Sure, I've trimmed his little front wisp's... but today was the real deal.
And luckily, we have Gabby :)
Who he knows, and loves...
so he sat there, like a champ.
It's a New Year, which make people want to make resolutions..
make changes..
but for me, it just made me realize a few things.
I felt old the other day.
I realized, my Cosmo was expiring.
Stop laughing.
I had no desire to re-new it. Because honestly, the last thing I care about nowadays are 'what boots to wear... the quiz about how to tell if you're a good friend... or what new sex position Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie are exploring'....
Today, I bought a 4$ shirt. It was plain. It was gray. It's a little baggy. Because the shirt doesn't make you.
And while I will always love shopping, and looking as best as I can/feel like it...
the attitude completes the outfit.
Because the cutest shirt in the world can't make a miserable person beautiful.
I'm happy to be growing up.
:)
I'm happy where I am in my life. Even though things are an economical MESS.
I'm happy to be experiencing the hardest times with the best of friends...
family...
cat..
Me, and my 4$ shirt will be plain jane gray...
and
me and my free positive attitude will be neon yellow.
I will shine that shirt up with big smiles, and infinite gratefulness.
Screw that Cosmo moment, making me feel old.
I'm HAPPY to be moving on from that point in my life.
And where many of my friends are still there, and that is where they belong until they start a family and understand what I mean...
I will keep moving forward.
Because I've never understood what life was about until this little guy came into our lives.
And opened my eyes to a million things...
which I'm not quite ready to explain yet.
But mostly, it opened my eyes to my real friends.
To how awesome it is to be married to Jason, who couldn't possibly be a better father.
To how thankful I am for family.
12 hours seems like a long day.
But to me, it's 12 hours until I get to go home to my family.
And when you know you have that to go home to, you can get through it with a smile.
Oh yea, remember that tent I was talking about?!
Well.
We built it.
We built it with our cold sheets that smell like closet, stuffed it with stained pillows that should be in the garbage...
lined it with a blanket and books..
We want to pway in the fort! =)
